Brief Intro

I started my online appearance in 2006 through blogging. After a few trials and errors in finding the type of writing that I wanted to do on my blog, I was finally set on the current blog style: a place of creative expression through words and also a place where I "pen down" my thoughts, opinions, and personal experiences worth sharing.

Through blogging alone, I didn’t have an online presence. That was until I started vlogging on Youtube in March 2011.

It was a lovely accident. I was inspired by fellow Malaysian vloggers Mat Luthfi and Anwar Hadi. At first, I wanted to try vlogging out because it looked cool. Becoming well-known through vlogging never crossed my mind. After facing numerous challenges, I managed to publish my first vlog. The response was unexpected. I was surprised to witness the support from family and friends. Not forgetting the support from random people who watched me on Youtube. Thus began my vlogging "profession". I made more videos and my audience grew. I didn’t start out with a plan. I had no idea where I was going. But one thing is for sure: I didn’t want to talk nonsense. My Muslim identity drove me to focus on topics that would benefit people.

A few months after my first video, I received my first ever public invitation to give a talk at Multimedia University (MMU), Cyberjaya, Malaysia. I was reluctant at first, but I finally agreed to it after I was convinced by my father. I posted the recording of the talk on my Youtube channel and with that, more invitations came. During my 2-month summer vacation in Malaysia in 2012, I received about 18 invitations from various parties (universities, schools, and NGO) to give talks and to be one of the panelists for forums.

Along with my videos, my writings on this blog are being recognized as well. In the near future, I hope to publish a book and to co-direct a short movie. Although I was accidentally drawn into this position, I accepted it with open arms and with extreme care. I wanted to use this position to benefit and to inspire people.

Now, would you believe that all of these started from me making a vlog all alone in my bedroom?
